I've just bought myself a nice new vp930 based on the review here at TG. I have to say... I'm disappointed with the image quality. Text does not look overly crisp (I've turned on the text smoothing option in XP); in fact, it looks a little... ploy chromatic, i.e. there appears to be some form of banding around the characters. Also, textures in games like Eve-Online look "grainy".

I have the resolution set to the native, 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz, and I'm using a Radeon Radeon x700. Using this same card on my CRT, the image quality in Eve was brilliant. I assume this is all due to calibration. Does anyone know how I can go about calibrating my panel to achieve the excellent image quality everyone's raving about?

i've found these values posted on another website and they are to be correct using the monitor calibration spider device.

NRGetic,

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to thank you for posting these settings. I tried them on my VP930b and now it looks perfect. I've been fiddling around with this thing since December of last year and haven't been able to get the colour right, until now. Thanks again! =)

I just found this thread after doing a search and although I'm sure at the time, the settings applied to a earlier revision then the revision 3 I just received, the settings seem to pretty accurate to my poor eyes with this revision 3 as well. It is certainly better then the factory preset color levels. I ended up cranking the brightness and contrast a bit higher then stated here but that may very well be the result of my eyesight rather then incorrect settings.

I have set the colours but those brightness and contrast settings on my vp930-3 look way too dark on the desktop. For now I have set the contrast +20 over those settings. Also using vp930b_r2_Lstar_140nit_native_20070301.icm file I found although the default vp930 icm keeps reloading itself.
