Hi guys ,

I have the weirdest issue, Im owning a older Dell Lattitude E5570 .
After a while as usual the battery dies , much sooner.

It went all fine from 100 % till 50% battery life and then in a instant ( like in minute time) it went to 7 % with notice to plug in charger.
So i went and bought a new battery .

At first i bought an aftermarket battery from a reputable company .
The problem problem persisted . After googling for hours ... "they " all came up.
Because of use of an after market battery you keep having this issues. Even tough the battery app of dell it self , stated that it was "outstanding condition"
So i went out and bought an OEM battery... did an number on my wallet , but ok all for the greater good.

But now.... after mounting the OEM version...the problem is still remaining there... but now from 44% battery life it jumps to 7% and same issue.

All ready tried this method several times and all other steps according to Dell Support website ...but no luck

Unplug the AC adapter from the laptop and allow the battery to discharge normally (Figure 3). The laptop can be used normally during this time. Once the laptop's battery has reached 6% or less, plug the AC adapter back in, and allow the laptop to charge up to 100%

What else is there to do ?

Running W11 pro on it

Are you using/referring to Dell documentation found on Dell's website?

Start here:

https://www.dell.com/support/manual...d2760f-b031-40c7-a727-18180f7e2c57&lang=en-us

https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/latitude-e5570-laptop_owners-manual_en-us.pdf

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...-a-battery-calibration-cycle-on-a-dell-laptop

Read all of the listed documention (and any other Dell referenced documentation) before doing anything.

And consider that the charger (AC adapter) may be the issue. Adapters can fail as well.

Forgot to mention, i went through the manual and documentation from support website of dell .
So all these steps , i all ready tried .

Thanks anyways @Ralston18 , much appreciated

But the charger? why is that ? that it doesn't charge it correctly ? or destroying it even perhaps ? Hmm never thought of that ?

Former DELL tech here.
DELL laptop chargers are bad about "aging out" or failing after several years of time due to the capacitors inside them not being the best of quality. If you swapped in an OEM battery and the behavior continues it's likely the charger. You might also reset the BIOS to make sure it's accurately detecting the charger and battery after replacing it.

OP, do you have an electrical multimeter ?

Charger is either working, or not generally speaking. I have not heard of such situations as related above....I am NOT an ex Dell tech though.

The charger will have it's input and output listed. I would first check wall main to see that it is putting out properly. Then plug in the charger and test at the (laptop side) plug. Keep in mind that wall power is AC and high enough voltage and amperage to HURT or KILL you. The output on the charger side will be DC.

If you are not familiar with electricity and the danger involved there please ask of someone who does.

What's best suggestion/option for this , through the Bios or removing the cmos battery ?

Resetting the laptop , does make sense... lets hope that , that wil be the solution.... 🤣

You can do it from the BIOS. I don't recommend trying it via the CMOS unless you're comfortable taking it apart.

didn't realize that it was possible from bios it self.
Never had the need to doing this haha .
I replaced the battery twice myself. but if we don't need to . i gonna try it through bios .
Thanks alot for the advice...
