My PC, CPU : Intel Core i5 3450 3.10Ghz , 3.5Ghz turbo
GFX : Zotac GTX 660 Synergy Addition , RAM : 8GB , Resolution : 1024 X 768* Windows10pro

I am facing randoms stutters and FPS drops in the Game COD Black Ops 3, Though i m getting a solid 58* FPS , but suddenly it drops or freezes for few secs.

I am not running it in all Cracked up setting. Textures , Filtering, Mesh is set to high, (not Ultra), Shadows is High. Dynamic shadow, Surface scattering, Volumetric light, transparency & motion Blur - all set to OFF. AA- FXAA & Ambient Occlusion - High

I applied the Hot Fix already, and put the frame rate cap at 58 just below my refresh rate, as suggested by Treyarch. Also configured the Config.ini file and changed
MaxFrameLatency = "3" , VideoMemory = "0.75" , BackbufferCount = "3"

This improved some performance, but still getting random stutters in places.

I checked in Game-debate. They rated my PC for high setting saying its 22% better than the recommended system requirements **TAKING RESOLUTION IN TO CONSIDERATION**

I have played COD Advance warfare in this system at 140FPS & COD GHOST at 95/100FPS Butter smooth. Still do

Is the game not well optimized or my system is having some problems? What should i do? Please help!

It's not you or your system spec, it's that the PC port is horribly optimized and has a memory leak.

I have a i7 950 with 7970, and 8GB RAM, same problem after all the things you tried. And believe it or not, many are claiming it doesn't work well with HyperThreading, despite all the talk about i5 CPUs being a problem.

There are tons of threads and posts about this on the Steam forums, most are awaiting a proper PC performance fix patch. I have decided to shelve the game until then, because it's not worth trying to play it in this condition.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Yah you are right, i will also wait for the patch now, instead of playing it in this condition.

Go into black ops 3 players folder and change config.ini workingthreads from 4 to 2 and also videomemory from 0.95 to 0.8 and it will work better 😉

It will still stutter sometimes
it stutters to me even with a gtx 970+i7 6700k and im in 1440x900 :/
But it will be a bit more playable 😉

Yah I have done that, & after Applying the Hot Fix , That particular line from the Config.ini file is removed, so cant edit it any longer.

Yes people with 16gigs Ram, is not suffering any stuttering.

My graphics card have only 4 GB and I have no problems. I think this is due to optimized programming for ps4. Aritrya if you read your link, it says with higher available vram (Titan X) the system ram usage usage will decrease. That makes sense, because the ps4 have single 8 gb ram for video AND system, so its sum up. In short, for pc get more vram OR system ram to compensate this.

Don't forget, that link tests this with 2560 * 1600p and I play with 1920 * 1080p, so my and on ps4 memory usage will be less than what they report.

Yah its like either get 4GIGS of VRAM or 16GIGS of System RAM to Run it smooth, or else even at lower resolutions like 1024X768 It will stutter. Pretty Steep System Requirements compared to the Graphics of the Game. I guess its even higher than Assassin's Creed Unity??
An update is out - 512MB , Update 1, from Treyarch. Just now installed it. Lets see how it Runs now.
