CoD was a big part of my early gaming years. I logged countless hours running multiplayer, especially modern warfare. In spite of this the single player campaigns in 1 thru 4 never quite measured up, often dipping into cliche/banal territory. 1-3 were little more than "Go here and do this," while the story from 4 felt like they stole a script from some late night B movie. All of it fun, don't get me wrong, but forgettable.
I'm about to jump back into the CoD universe with Ghosts if for nothing else than a fresh multiplayer experience after six years of CoD 4: Modern Warfare (has it really been that long?). For those of you that finished the Modern Warfare arc (2-3) and/or the Black Ops arc (1-3) would you say any of those games are worth picking up on the strength of their single player campaign alone? I know the CoD franchise has an obvious multiplayer bias and in reality I buy CoD games for that purpose mainly...
...Guess I'm just curious if the developers upped their narrative game between '07 and now. Wouldn't mind running through one of the older games i haven't yet played.
