Q9650 running BF4 and COD:G Maxed at 70-100fps (1920x1080, 2xAA).

I know this setup is ancient, but it still manages ok in todays games.
BF3 & BF4 maxed out 1920x1080 2XAA at 70-100fps, COD: Ghosts maxed at 60fps (1920, 2xAA), AC4 at 40fps (Maxed 1920, 2xTXAA)

See if anyone who's been around long enough, and remembers 775 oc'ing can help me with the occasional (once a month) lockup.

It's the lockup where the screen freezes and the sound loops in a loud droning sound.

Thanks if you used to know about 775 oc's back in the day and can give me a tip.

Your overclock settings look good to me, what operating system are you running?

What are you cooling your CPU with and where are your gaming load temperatures going?

Also what are your motherboard temperatures?

Additionally are you water cooling or air cooling that northbridge?

FYI: Your motherboard is exactly the same layout as the ASUS Striker II Extreme, and that was the 775 I was running my Q9550 on.

I was not water cooling at the time so I removed the water cooling block from the north bridge heat sink, and replaced it with a passive aluminum heat sink with tall fins and it cooled better than my friends same setup with water cooling.

I do remember there being problems with the Supreme FX II sound module drivers running with SLI in STEAM, but a monthly failure is kinda weird and you're not running SLI?

A once a month problem is very difficult to give a solid answer for, even overclock or driver problems would be failing much more frequently.

It could be some background function happening during gaming stealing your systems resources, have you limited your startup to control other applications activating during gaming using up your resources?
