Recently broke my old hp envy, I bought a new tower hoping to transfer all my data from my old computer(Envy) to my new computer which is the omen 880-068 I removed the hard drive from the old computer and installed it the new tower windows boots fine from the manufacturers hard drive and the computer starts up as normal but when I go to access my files from my old hard drive it only says recovery and shows nothing else. I ran the command to recover the files and followed all the prompts but at the end of the enter process it says file not found. I went into device management and can clearly see the the device but when I go to right click my old hard drive it just gives me a help bar. I’m not sure what to do I don’t know much about computers but I have a lot of files I need to acesss off my old hard drive. What can I do please help?

Solution
Double check that the original HDD (from the old system) has both the power and data connections firmly attached to it. From the picture, only a single HDD is installed.
The hard drive was fine I just accessed it the day before I broke my computer just the screen was broken when I installed it into my new computer and click the hard drive it says recovery I click Recovery then it says hp recovery partition and gives me a warning. When I go to disk management it just recognizes the hard drive but won’t let me access it just right click and only option I have is help.

So I can’t access my files from
That hard drive I’m confused sorry I opened up disk management and I see four optiona to choose from
(disk 0 partition 1)
(Disk 0-partition 5)
Windows (C)
Windows RE tools
I’m assuming the windows is from my new computers hard drive?
But I can seem to access the other 3 the only on I can choose from windows (c)
