Hi!

I have an SSD which I’ve installed windows 10 to, from a USB by using the windows created tool, I’ve installed it and it works and boots fine on my newer UEFI system

However, when I plug the SSD into an older mobo, without UEFI, I get the black screen with a flashing cursor/underscore which lasts indefinitely

My question is, do I need to do anything with partitions etc, I’ve tried GPT but I can’t make a partition active if it’s not MBR, I’ve had issues with MBR also so I’ve tried both

Any help would be amazing as I’ve been trying all weekend to sort this

Solution
Moving a drive and OS between systems usually fails.

The OS needs to be installed on the drive when it lives in the desired system.
You can't just move it between systems.

Ah okay man, thanks for the info, do you know how I can make a usb bootable with CSM? I’ve tried installing without csm and I just get some weird UEFI error on the old system
