Question Can’t open side panel

i have A hp pavilion 590-p0076 and i removed Thumbscrew and can’t slide the panel

Over the years I've come across cases like this. If the side panel has never been removed then it's likely just a good tight fit and will require a bit more force than you may think to remove it.
