Can’t plug in third ram without messing up pc.

I can’t plug in my 8gb ram with my dis 4hb ram without my pc randomly shutting off. I have a ASUS-Z170 motherboard, my ram is Ballistix sports DDR4 4gb and my 8gb ram is DDR4 ballistics tactical.

Thats why RAM is sold in kits, they are only guaranteed to work in said matching kits.
