can 2 different types of RAM work?

I got right now a single 8GB DDR4 2133mhz CL15 memory. I want to get another 8, but from a different company (HyperX, my current one is Kingston I think). Thing is that the one I want to get is CL14. Will that affect anything? Will my current one work with the new 8GB DDR4 2133mhz but CL14 instead of CL15 and different company?

No way I can say for sure. Mixing RAM from different vendors especially with different specs can be hit or miss.

Using non-identical RAM modules can work, but it doesn't necessarily mean they will. Only guarantee they'll work together is to get a matching pair of the correct spec for your motherboard - - even if it means throwing out (or selling) your existing RAM.
