Can 2 Dual Booted Operating Systems Share a Data Hard Drive

Hello. Since Windows 10 is coming out in a few days, I thought about doing a clean install and setting up a dual boot with Ubuntu. Both operating systems would be stored on my SSD.

Now for the question. If I install Windows 10 and Ubuntu on my SSD on July 29th, will it be possible for them to both store data on on my second hard drive? My biggest fear is Ubuntu will erase the Hard Drive. Could that possibly happen?

Thank you!

That's what I would do when installing just to be safe.

What I want to do is share my data hard drive between the two. For example, I would have a folder for Windows on it where I would store my Windows stuff and a folder for Ubuntu where I would store my Ubuntu stuff. Would they be able to share a partition on the Data Hard Drive? I am not talking about on my SSD, where the operating systems would be installed. This is the first time I have ever done this so I am not sure.

I was actually able to find out this by putting Ubuntu onto a flash drive and booting it off of the flash drive. I selected try Ubuntu and was able to modify data on the Data Hard Drive. Here is a picture of it.

Thank you to all that tried to help.
