can 3000mhz run on DDR4 2400* / 2133 MHz supported board?

Hello All,

i bought GA-B250M-D3H and this can only support up to DDR4 2400* / 2133 MHz and i ALSO bought Corsair 3000MHZ.. Can i run this Ram on that board or should i trade it with someone 🙁 hence its not refundable.

It should run on this board. Obviously, speed will be reduced to maximum allowed by mobo/CPU combo.

Yes it will work just fine. The motherboard will just run it at 2400MHz.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - - in other words, try it. It won't do any harm & it will either work or it won't.
So simple, didn't really warrant starting a thread at this stage until you experience a problem with it.

Not necessarily true. If OP has 6th gen CPU, it would be 2133, not 2400.

Yes, but there's no guarantee that said boards have the old Skylake BIOS.

Really it could be 2133 or 2400 depending on model and BIOS revision.

plus i dont care until it work even its 2133 cuz now i cant return it, so working is all right now i am concern about
