I have a 32-bit windows 7 machine running a client database/diary/stock program that I back up, take home and load onto my 64-bit windows 8 machine, but then I can't go and reopen it on the windows 7 machine again. The media family on device 'C:\Program Files(x86)\Salon Iris\Temp1\Database.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
I guess this is because 64bit understands 32bit but not visa versa, so can I make my 64 bit windows 8 machine save in 32 bit?
