i wanted to know about the inateck harddrive enclosure -
"Inateck USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drives Docking Station with Dust Cover for 2.5 Inch & 3.5 Inch HDD SSD SATA(having power supply )"

as desktop 3.5" harddrives wont work without a power supply it has one shipped with this.but i want to connect a laptop harddisk or ssd to it.and as laptop harddisk and ssd normally dont need power supply and can be usb powered i want to know if a laptop harddisk can be connected and still work without using the power supply.please reply quickly.if there is a better enclosure available for this price in the market please suggest it too.

Thanks in advance :)

If you want something that will work with a 3.5" drive, it WILL need wall power.
Which do you want...2.5", 3.5", or both?

Thankyou for the quick replies
ya i want to be able to use both with it.i know that when i use 3.5" drive with this it will need wall power.however as 2.5" drives need only usb power i need to know whether i need to use the wall power when i put the 2.5"hdd in the 3.5" enclosure ,as 2.5"hdd usually needs only usb power.

thanks for searching that out for me :) .bu i would need to use 3.5" harddisk.iam also looking for a enclosure which supports uasp mode as i can use my ssd in it and get >300MBps transfer speed via usb.but for now i want to know if there are 3.5" enclosures that would do my purpose of not using power cable with 2.5"hdd and if this model supports it

thank you for all the answers..i have bought the enclosure and confirmed that it works without using the power cable supplied for 2.5" harddisks..its a great all in one tool for ssds and 3.5 and 2.5" harddisks.. :)
