Can a 500w blow up?

Okay im 14 and i just bought a build for BF4 and i got a 500w (dont worrie i got a amd radeon hd 7850 2gb) and in my bed room i have alot of crap hooked up to my surge protector and i was wondering if i plug in a 500w to it..Will it blow up and ruin my PC?

with pc and monitors you need a lot of amps draw to pop the fuse in a good surge suppressor. if you have two open outlets near your pc pick up another one. (watt saver unit if your local power company gives them out for free).
on the watt saver put your monitor and pc on it. when your not using them the watt saver will turn power off to them
on the older unit put your printer and speakers on it.
