Can a 650w power supply be ok to use a R9 290?

I want to get a R9 290 but since it is a powerful card i've also read that it has a high power consumption. Therefore I'm asking if a 650 power supply will be able to support the R9 290 until i can get a power supply with a higher capacity.

yes, it should be more then enough, its probably fine even with a good 500w psu.
