A bit of backstory to get everyone up to speed. Yesterday when I went to turn on my PC it wouldn't boot. The night before everything had been fine, I shut it down to go to bed the normal way (start, shutdown) but during the next 8 hours something happened. After having it not respond to me pressing the power button I noticed the green light on my motherboard was not on. I figured the psu had somehow went in the night and set about swapping in a spare that I keep around for events like this.
After putting the new psu in the green light came on and I preceded to boot up with no issues. I played some WoW and Diablo 3 while on skype with a friend and after a few hours called it a night and shut down my pc again. This morning when I hit the power button all the fans spun up, windows started to load and then the power to the mouse, keyboard, and the signal to the monitor went out.
As it stands now. I'm can boot into bios and into safe mode, but I cant get any farther. Ive tried a windows reinstall but that didn't help at all. Is it possible that when my psu went it affected my motherboard enough to cause it not to work normally, but safe mode and bios are fine?
