I want to know if a big cooler like a Thermolab Baram 2010 fit on the Gigabyte Z87M-D3H. Cause if it doesn't fit I'll have to get a liquid cooler.

Solution
it probably would. but you should rather get a water cooler in any case. a good one is the corsair h50, h55 or h60.(whichever you can afford)

If it would fit, why should i get a water cooler? wont the thermolab be enough for a 4.5ghz 4670k i'm planning to use?

But I'm concerned about how reliable a water cooler is, since on a heatsink it is just a block of metal and the only thing that can break is the fan and if the fan breaks ill just buy a new one cheaply while a water cooler has a pump which cant be replaced if it breaks down. How long do these water coolers last?

corsair water coolers are pretty darn reliable. i think they have a 2 yr warrantee if im not mistaken.

EDIT: I checked and they have a FIVE YEAR warranty.

Well I live in Indonesia, and I don't think I'll get warranty coverage here.

i don't think location matters. those tubes are very durable, and don't "just break" that easily. if they did, corsair wouldn't give a 5 yr warranty with them. besides, afaik, the coolant in those are non conductive meaning even if they did leak, it wouldnt matter.

That's the thing I'm scared will happen with a liquid cooler, and when you say the thermolab baram 2010 fits on the gigabyte z87m d3h you mean it also doesn't cover the first pci slot right?

If i were to get a liquid cooler, cooler master's seidon series are cheaper than corsair's and in review perform better on some tests. are the seidon any good?
