Can a cpu run by plugging it directly on an outlet?

My computer doesnt have an avr because its avr recently broke.. So maybe the cpu can run if i connect it directly to an outlet..

2. if your asking if you can plug safely your computer power supply in the wall (ac current) I dont see why not.

Might mean auto voltage regulator. If so, running your pc direct to your mains will depend how stable your electricity is. Places around the world can have flakey power supply resulting in brown outs causing power surges, not something a computer's power supply will like very much.

sure it does…AVR can mean many thing but "audio-video receiver" in a computer is rather rare..

I was thinking; AVR UPS systems from CyberPower

since his question was about power… thinking his UPS is down (quote "it's avr recently broke") can he connect his computer in the wall, (quote "maybe the cpu can run if i connect it directly to an outlet")

See how his question would make sense to me ?

I'd guess perhaps 1-2% of folks even bother to run thru a UPS at all...

Of course a system will work plugged straight into wall power...
