Started a few weeks ago where I have to reset the CMOS every time for the rig to boot properly. But what also happens when it finally boots into windows, I get the USB not recognized error and takes a few minutes for the mouse and keyboard to start working. Just wondering if a dead motherboard backup battery could be the reason.

Solution
I think that it could be the cause and I would change it and try it again.

Although right after you change it I would go into the BIOS and go through it and make sure everything is as close to how you want it as you can get it.
