[SOLVED] Can a Displayport to DVI support 144hz at 1920x1080

so my monitor only supports dvi for 144hz and i have a graphics that has displayport and hdmi ports and i was wondering if i can get 144hz through a cable that connects DP/hdmi

You'd need a DP to Dual link DVI adapter and those are ~$100+, almost the cost of a new 1080p@144Hz that has displayport and the adapters can be fickle.
