Can a driver conflict cause hardware damage?

Can putting a HDD on a different computer and booting Windows from it without doing a fresh install cause hardware damage since the drivers from the old computer are still there?

Sorry I didn't give enough information....I built a desktop PC and put my laptops HDD in it without changing anything (did it till my SSD arrived)....so will normal use like playing videogames, running stress tests or benchmarks etc. cause any hardware damage if the drivers from the laptop interfere in any way shape or form??
