Hi guys, after having some power related issues such as my pc failing to turn on a few times in the past couple of months, it abruptly shut off and then wouldn't turn on again. Suspecting my psu to have died, I took it to a pc shop who said that my psu had failed, and got a new one. I had the exact same issue with this one, and then decided to try changing the power cable, which worked. So my question is can my psu failing take out the cable with it? Or was this a faulty cable all along and is my old one not to blame :/

Thanks in advance! :)

In answer to your question, yes power cables can and do fail. Usually after a lot of flexing, and usually where the plugs are installed. Keep a couple of extra on hand, and use a new cable first before changing PS. About $6 versus $100 or better.
