OS Windows 10 (fully updated)
AMD Drivers (were out dated, explained below)
Ram 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ Jaws-x Memory x 2
Corsair CX750 WATT PSU
Gigabyte GA-990FXA Motherboard
HIS AMD R9 280x 3GB GPU

Just today as I was exiting world of wacraft my system crashed, this included my screen being blue/white lined. I restarted my PC, tested it by launching wow and @ log in crashed again, blue ish screen white lines.

uninstalled drivers, reinstalled newest ones and tested it on CS:GO. 2-3 minutes in crash grayish screen.

I check my windows DMP files with a program and it only found one from a year ago.

My question is, can a faulty PSU (going bad) cause a GPU to crash like that? my PC did NOT shut down and I've never had any issue Like this before.

The reason I'm asking is, I have another PSU and GPU. It's easier to replace the GPU and test it than the PSU. BUT since the GPU is smaller, it wont pull that much power so I may not know it's the PSU and I'll be using a smaller/weaker GPU.

any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you for your help, the only issue I had was that if you have a 144hz monitor and you are set to 144hz when you install the GPU + drivers, you will get a flicker.

I thought something was wrong with the GPU cause if this but I did a bit of resolution changing and discovered 120hz worked normal. THEN i read that there is an issue with the current drivers for 144 hz.

But other than that.. all is well.
