[SOLVED] Can a fan work without mb

So i wanted to know today if my mb or psu is faulty i opened my pc today and there are no beebs or anything

So i had a molex connected to a fan but when i turn on the psu the fan doesn't work so i wanted to know can a fan work if it is connected to the psu with a molex without a mb

You can short 2 pins in the psu with a paperclip to test if it powers the fan.

I tried that but the fan didn't work but there was electricity in the case i feel it and in the pins of the 24 pon cable and there isnt any burns

It's possible for a PSU to just partially work.

I don't think there's any other way to know other than to try a different psu.

sidenote: have you tried reseating the ram sticks? had the same issue before and that fixed it... I almost bought a new psu.

The psu is faulty i tried another psu and it worked also can a motherboard burn power supplies?

Update : the power cable was broken not the psu thanks for everyone
