Can a fried graphics card ruin RAM, or vise versa?

Yesterday, I started up a game of Fortnite and 3 minutes into a match my computer completely shut off. I couldn't get it to power on until I switched off the power supply for 30 seconds. when I turned the system back on, I heard a crackel and then my graphics card developed a small flame. I panicked and immediately pulled out the power cable. After opening up my card, I discovered one of the mosfets was fried. Disappointed, I continued the rest of the day using the system without the graphics card installed.

This morning when I turned on the system, I got a blue screen with an error that means there is a change in software or driver without a signature. I noticed that my computer was having trouble even getting to the bios, and when it finally got in it froze (even with the hard drive unplugged). I decided to test the RAM and sure enough both sticks were giving tons of errors in MemTest. I tested my RAM a week ago and they passed fine.

I feel like these issues have to be related in some way. My PC has plenty of fans and airflow, and there is almost no dust in it, so I don't see it being a heat issue. Can one of these issues cause the other? Is it possible that my motherboard is having issues and ruining my other components?

I'm just wondering if I should try another set of RAM that I have or would that be risky?
