Can a graphics card display ports be used if the graphics drivers are not yet installed?

My motherboard (MSI 990fxa gaming) has no display ports and I was wondering this so I don't have to go out and buy a new one. My graphics card is the gtx1080 and I already know that they are compatible. Thanks for help

Yes. You are meant to have a display. You always install graphic card drivers after it has been installed.

Your motherboard doesn't have display outputs (Display Port is only one of possible display outputs). In this situation you have to use discrete graphics card.
