Can a GTX 960 run with a 240 watt PSU?

I am interested in buying a new GTX 960 for my Alienware X51 R2 to replace the GTX 645 it came with. The external PSU supplies 240 watts, and the 645 has worked very well so far without issue. Will the GTX 960 run OK with the 240 watt PSU?

If not, what wattage will I need for the 960 (nothing else in the system is hardcore) to run pleasantly, and how would I go about the business with the PSU? Am I able to put an internal PSU in the place of the current power brick I have? Does that work?

Thanks!

Thanks everybody - huge help. For the first two posters, the PSU isn't very common - it's an external power brick, outside of the case. Hence why I especially asked about replacing it. I'll probably go with the GTX 750 Ti, it looks like it would do my needs just fine at a pretty good price.

A small extra question: I want to get the EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked from amazon, instead of the regular EVGA 750 Ti. What does the superclocked version do more? Will it require more power?

Great! From what I've seen in many videos, the X51 has either two 6-pin connectors, or one 6-pin and one 8-pin. So I think I'll be good. Would it be worth the money to buy a $160 330w PSU to upgrade from my 240w?

Sorry to ask so many questions, that should be the last one.
