can a gtx 980ti handle 1440p @144hz?

Solution
It will do well over 100 FPS at 1440p, looking at a fair few review sites they have it averaging 124-129fps on Ultra with stock clocks, that's pretty awesome imo, and you will not notice the difference between 124 fps and 144. If you did want to push the frames higher, you could overclock it or turn down the AA, but as I said, I really don't think you'll notice.

School boy error, was looking at SLI! Still with Ultra settings your looking at a minimum of 77 fps, that's stock clocks though. The new cooler seems to be the best of the air cooling solutions from the reviews I've seen, so you've got plenty of headroom to overclock. Bear in mind not even the titan X can get over 100 fps.

It's always personal preference, if you are set on over 100fps on ultra then you will need to SLI or if not, again, turn down AA and those FPS may go over 100 but not to 144. Speaking as someone with a ROG Swift and 980ti Hyrbid (EVGA), I can't tell the difference between 75 fps and 144. Back in my 970 days (last month :) ), I only noticed when fps dropped into 40's.

My fps is all over the place in that game like yours...it'll dip to 90 for a second and then back to 120 or dip to 85 for a second and then back to 115 and then up to 130fps..lol. It does the same in 4k...hit 55 for a second, then back to 65, then stay at 62 for awhile, then hit 70. For the most part it'll stay above 100-115 fps in 1440p and above 60 in 4K and that has some AA turned on, cause I had some AA turned on 1440P too but not max. I think maybe 4x.

I'll have to test it again.

Actually those numbers I had before were right with AA turned off completely. In my opinion, it needs low AA though at 1440P, 4K not really but I just tested it now with it off and 70-80 fps 4K and 1440P was 130-150 fps with it off and 110-130fps with 2x msaa ultra level post processing.

They're almost done uploading to you tube, I'll put them here when they're done in like 15-20 min.

Here's the 4K one, I'll put 1440P here after they upload.

Yeah I love the temps for hybrid, I'd like to see yours too. That vid is 4K though. 70-80 fps. This one is 1440P with msaa 2x 115-130 fps.

Yeah, ours look about the same cause I do hit 100 or more fps at 4k with no aa on certain areas of the maps too and it varies map to map too. I don't use 200% resolution to do it but it ends up about the same performance wise. I think it looks better using DSR and selecting the resolution if you don't have 4K monitor. That 595 mhz clock reading...try resetting your clocks with afterburner, the middle refresh button or usually turning it off and then back on usually helps fix that.

I'd raise the power limiter cause it will allow your card to get extra wattage if it needs it, and it might in certain situations. It doesn't hurt anything.

That 595 mhz is probably why your getting huge fps drops but it could be power so raise your limiter too. Just a guess but that usually happens on a hard crash if your overclock isn't stable and the clocks get downclocked but it still runs games good but just flaky until you reset them. I know you're stock but try and get it reset.

90% of the time the 50% fps cuts are when the gpu hits over 100% power useage ill give it ago it wont hurt the card will it ?
