Can a key for windows 8.1 be used on another PC after i upgraded to windows 10 on this one?

So i am buying a laptop now and i had a 8.1 key on my PC then i upgraded to windows 10. So can my 8.1 key be used on that new laptop and will w10 remain on my PC?

Your original Windows 8.1 license (product key) is now tied to the upgraded Windows 10 installation, so you can't reuse that product key again on another installation.

You would need to acquire a second license (product key) for a second installation.
