I have the Asus Zenbook UX501. I wanted to upgrade the HardDrive and Ram; however upon removing the battery I forgot i was using a metallic screw driver and i heard a spark. It was only a small spark. Now i have tried turning it on and nothing happens. I have also tried booting my laptop without the battery still nothing happens. I am sure the battery is dead however can my motherboard and any vital parts be also damaged?

The battery is 15.2V 60Wh 3800mAh
Li-Polymer C41N1416

Solution
1) Test the AC adapter with multimeter to make sure it works.
2) Take out the RAM, and the HDD to boot the laptop.
If you got the same, it does not boot. The laptop has problem. If you want to know what is wrong with it, you are better go to local PC shop ask for help.
