can a MBD-X8STi-B motherboard support a standard gpu

As the title says i need to know whether a MBD-X8STi-B lga 1366 motherboard can support a standard size 16x gpu

That would be funny with this hanging GPU... but no, I'll hunt for some non-OEM mobo with OC option. Too small rise of performance to price with stock E5620 vs OC E5450 on this mobo. But thanks for responses. It's the cheapest Mobo on 1366.

That is indeed interesting. I forgot about that edge piece. You could cut that off, but I do NOT recommend doing so.

Cut just enough to get your card in. I did it and it worked.

Be gentle with your card while doing the cutting.

I just purchased this motherboard aswell and the 8x pcie slot is indeed very close to the 16x slot but nonetheless i read your comments here by cutting a little bit out of a hd5970 and it fits and works well! it's just a shame i can't fit a pcie to usb 3.0 card in the 8x slot as the graphics card is in the way
