I'm not great at the technical side of computers so bear with me,, , Can my NAS output internet?
let me explain..
My router has 4 ethernet ports. 3 ports go to media players and 1 to my NAS. The problem being i have 1 media player that's not connected. So in my wisdom i thought that because the NAS is connected to my router, the other ethernet port in the NAS will act as a outlet. I connected my 4th media player to my NAS via ethernet however on my media player it doesn't locate the NAS. When the media player is connected to the router through ethernet it works fine. BUT i don't have a spare ethernet port in my router .
So can the spare ethernet port in my NAS act like a switch/internet outlet? if it can, can you explain how? hopefully i've explained that correctly..
My NAS TS-431X
many thanks
