Iam try to replace a power adapter cord. 19. 5. +(0)- output. To a compac loptop 18. 5vdc. - (0)+ input my question is why it wount charge when the light is show charching ?

They need to be the same to work. Since it isn't, that is the problem. You need a charger cord that is the same as your original one.
