I've heard power supplies are dominant for frying your parts; how is this possible and how can this happen? Would a power supply that holds 750 watts and your pc only comsumes about 500-550watts would it damage your pc due to the extra 200watts?

Solution
No absolutely not. The extra watts just leaves some extra room for you just incase you want to upgrade your components that will consume extra power.

I have a 750W PSU and my system only consumes 490-500 watts. No problem there 😛

No, you can have a 100,000 watt PSU and it will not fry it. The power supply only draws in the amount of power it needs. Too much power will not hurt anything, it just won't all be used. Cheap power supplies can fry components, it just happens sometimes when they break. Check reviews for a good quality power supply before buying. Too little power is bad, but too much will never damage anything.
