Can a PSU short break your components?

I had a power supply short and my computer wouldn't even turn on.

My motherboard was definitely fried. But how about my other components?

I ran two power source to one fan (via molex connectors) by accident (a bad "Double Check") and my computer turned on for a split second and then shut off...wouldn't turn on anymore after that.

Thought it was my PSU that was done for, but i tried it with another and it didn't work either.
Are all my components fried too? or was it just my mobo and that took one for the team?

so i RMA'ed my mobo, should i send out my PSU also? is it for sure dead to? if not can i try and boot up the new board that i will get with the maybe dead PSU i have?

Yes. I certainly wouldnt. I wouldn't expect much from the RMA either. its going to be pretty obvious the PSU did it not a motherboard fault. Pretty dishonest since it was your fault but whatever
