I would like to know if a Raspberry Pi 4 can handle watching 1080 p videos on YouTube and other streaming sites along with some light to moderate computing tasks? A side note if it can handle 1440 p and 4k videos on YouTube would be extremely helpful as well. (Knowing that it's capable is a bonus)

I am planning to use this as my normal computer as well as using it to watch videos on my living room tv.

Thanks in advance. :)

Solution

HDMI – 2 × micro-HDMI ports (up to 4kp60 supported)
Display port – 2-lane MIPI DSI
Misc – H.265 (4kp60 decode), H264 (1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode), OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics

It has no problem with 4K playback. I use to run a Pi 2 @ 4K around 30fps but that took some tweaking, the Pi 4 does it natively.
