Can a replacement cpu fan cause BSOD, or can a Nividia Geforce 8800 GTS 512 cause it?

So my problem started a few months ago and my cpu fan failed so I used a replacement fan I had laying around to fix the issue and my pc works fine normally under normal operating conditions the error message I keep seeing is the BSOD page fault error so I thought it was failing ram or my cpu being to hot so I installed memtest86 and it showed my ram passed, I have 16 gb of ram btw, and an i7 920, so after that I checked my hard drives using the default windows tool and it said it was fine, so then I thought it was my cpu temp so I installed CPU-z and core temp and it stays around 49 C and 70 with a load, so that didn't help my issue so I assumed it could be the graphics card failing because in the past it's acted up, so I updated my drivers and downloaded MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombustor and found out my fan speed was only at 40 percent and my GOD was 70 C under normal operating conditions and that's when I found this site and read a few posts and decided to change my fan speed and increase it to 80 percent to cool down my GPU and I haven't encountered the problem again but I plan to stress my GPU with MSI Kombustor to try and produce the same results and figure out if it is my GPU failing, also one last thing my network adapter some times uninstalls it's self and I reboot my pc and the driver is back idk if that could be related but I though it may be relevant, mainly the only time I've noticed this happens is when I'm searching videos on YouTube and it BSOD when I'm watching a video but it freezes first, also it happened a few times while editing a video in Adobe after affects and the video windows went green like the video card was acting up then it BSOD.

I know this is a lot of stuff but any advice or help would be appreciated because I'm sort of clueless about pc's I'm just trying to figure out what the problem is so I can replace it and get back to video editing, thanks

I'll keep you guys updated if the increase fan speed helped and I plan to clean my pc case with air to get rid of any dust that could be in there

I see you've already tried a lot. To troubleshoot some more you could update the BIOS to the newest version, and clean install your OS. You would start clean and install all newest drivers. See if the problem remains

Well I tried a few tests and nothing happened maybe the fan speed was my solution on my GPU I'll let you guys know if anything changes if I get the BSOD again hopefully not because I don't want to wipe my pc and replace a ton of parts for a simple fix,

Btw during my test I tried the video test in MSI Kombustor 3x and my max temp was 71 C it was gradually going up but stayed around 68 C during the 3d test but the GPU burn in test is when it got to 71 C and I ran it for 2 minutes and didn't want to push it since it didn't crash, the 3d test actually finished in full res 720p

----Edited----

I'm not entirely sure how to update the bios but if the problem persists I'll try to find out and I'd rather not redo windows 7 if it's possible to avoid that because I have a ton of things I don't want to loss and I don't have an external back up drive to back up both drives

My PC specs
Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Gene x58
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.67GHz
Ram: 16 gb DDR3
Graphics Card: Nividia Geforce 8800 GTS 512
Harddrive: 2 Seagate Sata drives 500 GB and 1 TB

I think it could be a windows software update error because I clicked on the update button in my antivirus AND It Crashed I Didnt Have Enough Time To See What It Said In The BSOD because I was trying to take a picture of it as a reference to see if I could find similar problems other people had, but I remember reading something someone else mentioned that BSOD can be cause by the antivirus software so that's what I've got it down to so far is that or my windows update has a corrupt file and the last time I attempted to recreate the problem I tried to update my windows again and it crashed and I got a few pictures of it and it said Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_equal I looked that up and it said that it's a driver error and boot in safe mode and update drivers so I attempted that and my pc wouldn't boot in safe mode but now it finally did so I'll try that and see if that helps

Sorry for all the writing I just try to be detailed so maybe someone can give advice to my situation

If I were you I would still re-install Windows to eliminate software-cause. You don't have to wipe both of your drives to re-install Windows. Only back-up your Boot-drive to the other drive in your system, then re-install.

When you install Windows you could also just re-install on the same partition your current OS is. Windows would put the old OS in a folder called "Windows.old" on the root of your C:/. It comes with a popup when you select the used parition

Thanks @Kemperkipie I'll try that eventually sometime today or tomorrow I'm just trying to back up my projects I had on some writable CD's and I didn't know you could just redo windows over an old version on that Partion I Know How To Redo Windows But I Always formated The Harddrive To Prevent Errors But One Question How Do You Recover Drivers When You Install Windows Because I Redone Windows In A Laptop We Have AND The Network Driver Is Missing AND I Cant Find It Anywhere But I Finally Found The ethernet driver and got that installed but the network driver for that pc doesn't work it's the wireless network driver I'm talking about, and I'm sort of afraid to do that on my pc because it's the only working pc atm so if I redo windows and mess up my drivers lol well I'm S.O.L Thanks though.

Sorry for the random caps my stupid phone did that...

Okay so I figured out why that laptop didn't have the drivers I was installing the wrong ones and I didn't know that I had to install it from Intel because the driver is different than the factory WLAN driver

Anyway- Status on my PC desktop I reinstalled windows and all my drivers installed properly I didn't know they were built into the bios but yeah so I just finished that and now I have to update it and everything so I'll let you guys know if the BSOD still happens, let's hope not, thanks @Kemperkipie you helped me out more than you know

-----Edited The Next Morning------

Okay so I got everything running perfectly fine now on my pc except the fact that my Wireless Network Adapter
Isn't showing what so ever not in the device manager or anything I've tried to manually install the drivers and no luck it said something like turn off your pc and install the hardware and then run the driver setup, "My problem was my network card failing I assume" or maybe the fact the drivers are for Vista I'm not entirely sure but on the bright side I have a clean fresh PC

The Network Adapter is

D - Link Rangebooster N Desktop Adapter Model: DWA-542

-------EDITED Litterly 5 mins later --------

Okay so after assuming my network card was the problem I decided to do some more research and found this post that gives 10 possible reasons for BSOD

http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10-things/10-tips-for-coping-with-blue-screen-errors/

Okay so the 10th issue said that he had problems with his network card being loose so I thought to myself "Hey let's try that" LMAO I feel really stupid but on the other hand I fill accomplished, I repaired 3 PC'S and Fresh windows on all of them

So after I reseated my network card it worked perfectly fine and my assumption is the BSOD was due a corrupt windows file or my network card being loose either way I'm officially done and my PC is fixed and I'm happy and so is my Brother and Mom because during this Trial and Error process I fixed their PC'S also
