Hey!
As the tittle says, could a secondary m2 with nothing on it running(literally empty) cause issues/freezes to the PC if it was faulty ?

This motherboard?

(Verify that I found the applicable manual.)

Review the entire manual to doublecheck everything.

Take a very close look at the M2 installation instructions on Page 26.

From the bottom of Page 26: "(Note) Actual support may vary by CPU."

Also take a look at the BIOS settings etc. that begin on Page 33.

Objective being to discover or eliminate some error of omission or commission.

Details matter.

Thanks a lot for your help, I'll take a look.

Could it actually cause issues tho ? It's just empty and not being used.

The physical presence is one thing. Having data or not (empty) is another thing.

Remember part of troubleshooting is to find problems.

The other part is to eliminate potential problem sources/origins.

It's easy to test.
If with secondary M.2 installed you have freezes and
with secondary M.2 uninstalled freezes disappear,
Then there's a problem with secondary M.2 drive.

Your board has 3X M.2 slots. You can try installing secondary M.2 drive in 3rd M.2 slot.

Yeah it is, just wanted to know if it's possible before I go through because I need to literally disconnect whole pc+remove the gpu to get to that particular m2.
Thanks!

Yes. It could be a problem with it's heat shield or the system using it as a temp.

Another common error is having it as exFAT instead of NTFS.
