My pc has started to get more and more troubled over the months and now it has crashed at least once a day for a week.

in most situations I have this error:
A TCG Command has returned an error.
Desc: AuthenticateSession
Param1: 0x1
Param2: 0x60000001C
Param3: 0x900000006
Param4: 0x0
Status: 0x1 (or 0x12)

Now I know from research this means the opal 2.0 security is failing on a ssd either by password being incorrect or to many incorrect attempts..

Im just wondering if my secondary ssd was causing this error, would my pc freeze/crash or would that only happen if it is the primary/os sdd causing the error?

I'm debating a new sdd and possibly mobo/cpu but I hate the idea of not using my current 2 ssd's as extra storage.

Hey there, Mr120.

Basically it's possible for a failing drive to be causing issues, such as freezing/hanging of you system, even if it's not an OS drive. I'd recommend that you backup your data and run a diagnostic tool on both SSDs, to see if any errors pop-up. However, similar problems might be caused by a faulty SATA cable or port as well, so try the SSDs with different ports and cables.

The "TCG Command has returned an error" is indeed connected to the encryption of the drive (at least that's what I think), so you might want to disable it, to see if that fixes things up.

Please let me know how it goes.
