Can a Skylake processor be bent by the CPU Cooler pressure?

Hi all,

I am currently building my PC for the first time and I have already bought all the components. I just need to assemble them.

I initially wanted to use the stock cooler that comes with the intel Skylake processor. However, after reading that the stock cooler is not very efficient in lowering the temperature of the processor, I decided to buy a high end cooler so that it will extend the lifespan of my processor. I finally bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212x:

However, I recently read that the Intel Skylake CPUs are bending due to cooler mount pressure and can be easily damaged. This is an irony because I bought this high end cooler to increase my CPU's lifespan and not to reduce its lifespan drastically!!

Do you think that I should use the stock cooler instead of the Cooler Master Hyper 212x? I do not know whether the IT retailer will accept the Cooler Master Hyper 212x back though.

Please advise. Thanks.

Regards

And Do not under any circumstances touch the motherboard socket pins, they are indeed fragile.
The CPU itself doesn't have any pins since it is a LGA (Land Grid array) but every one of these are connected trough the motherboards socket pins, in which each one have a spring loaded contact pin.
As long as You are careful during the mounting process, no problem.

No, there's no problem, the 212 Evo is perfectly fine, don't worry about 'bending'.
That only happens when a cooler is mounted VERY incorrectly, or it is a very high pressure cooler, which doesn't apply here.

Just instsll if carefully fomlowing the instructions, and don't worry.

I have not seen that 'original story', but I have read several cases. Common denominator was that the PC was being transported, or fell, or received some kind of shock "that haswell would have survived". Under normal circumstances, you would never see a bent cpu.
