Can a tv accept vga and hdmi inputs simultaneously

I am having problems. I have an older XBox 360 and use Turtle Beach X42 headset that is wireless but the receiver connects to the tv throught the VGA input. I tried to also hook up my Hauppage HD PVR 2 (gaming edition) to the tv through the HDMI input. I can get picture through the HD PVR on my PC but there is no sound in the headset. Are the VGA and HDMI inputs into the tv conflicting? How can I connect and utilize everything? Help! Thanks

You can connect something into both the inputs of the TV, but you can only use one of the devices at a time. VGA and HDMI should not be conflicting. VGA will only carry your video, but HDMI will carry video and audio.
