Can a USB 3.0 docking station output higher than the laptop's max resolution?

I have a Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop that shows a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 plugged into a Kensington K33972US Universal USB3.0 Dual Display Docking that is connected to a 1440p monitor. However, I only get these resolution options:

Is it possible to output a higher resolution than what the laptop can?

Edit: I have the laptop display set to disconnected and only using the 1440p monitor.

I assume it's this specific docking station that only supports up to 1080p, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1015531-REG/kensington_k33972us_usb_3_0_docking_station.html. Is there a docking station that can upscale to 1440p?

@Glendwing, no it's a Dell S2716DG 1440p monitor.

Would this [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O0M46KO] item from Amazon work? It says it can display up to 4K, but I still don't know if it requires the laptop to output at that resoltuion.

Well I'm a moron. I plugged in the 1440p monitor via HDMI and bypassed the docking station and was able to get 1440p. Now I wonder if I can do multiple 1440p monitors from the one HDMI plug.
