Can a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Header on MB work with USB 3.0 Type A

Looking for something that can do this?
I have an ASUS Z270i MB which has a Gen 2 header and needs to eventually end at a 2.0 header for NZXT Hue+. I don't need to worry about speeds as its simply for the Hue+ .
If anyone has a simple solution other than USB 3.0 header adapters, that would be appreciated. I'd like to be able to use the 3.0 header for a front panel.

Lian-Li has one cable that can utilize it right now. You can then use a usb c to micro usb cable.:

oh awesome! do you know where I can pickup one of the Lian-Li cables? I was reading that forum and found that they do orders via email but the wait times are kind of long and need it asap.

I haven't seen this product in stock in many stores in the US and Europe even though they have a product page up. It was recently announced during CES 2017 so it is possible that right now it's still not fully released into the market.
