Can a usb modem be networked with other computers

If it only has USB, connect modem to one computer, connect that computer to second via crossover ethernet cable and use Windows Internet Connection Sharing (see Windows Help). Remember to turn off firewalls on both computers when setting up.

Best alternative is to replace a USB-only modem with a router that includes a modem (if ADSL) -- if cable a normal modem with ethernet socket and router designed for cable. In every way a better solution than ICS.
