I have a 2.0 USB thumb drive and all 4 pins are (cleanly) broken (so that the sliding insert is completely separate from the body).
Is there any chance I can retrieve the data on it?

Most likely......if you want to spend enough money. I don't know who you would employ if you had to do it.

Flash drives are famously flimsy. The sliding mechanism is just another possible point of failure, so I don't buy them anymore...in fact I hope I've bought my last flash drive due to failures like yours.
