Can a virus create bad sectors on a hard drive yes or no

No, bad sectors are a sign that the drive is starting to fail. The number of bad sectors will increase over time until the drive becomes unusable. All hard drives fail at some point, and all get bad sectors at some point unless the drive fails from some other reason first.

What's happening to your hard drive is expected and normal, albeit unwelcome.
Backup you data from it and replace it as soon as possible.
