I have a microsoft wireless laser desktop 4000. I've been using it on a Dell desktop running Windows XP. My daughter recently passed on her MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard, and I'm not yet facile using the touchpad. I'm wondering if it will be possible to use the 4000 with both computers.

I appreciate your assistance with this issue.

ignore sabysmth, its a blatant advertisement. someone should get out the banhammer.

OP:

yes, you can use the wireless mouse on both computers. however, you won't be able to use it on both computers at the same time. you might have to use a "connect" button on the bottom of the keyboard (if it has one) when switching.

keep in mind that you'll get better results if you plug in the wireless receiver first and then start the computer up second.

Isn't it great getting hand-me-downs from your own kids?

A good cheap wireless mouse is about 30 and you won't have to swap connectors between the 2 computers.

Hello,
I'm sorry. I saw that there was an answer, but I haven't been able to deal with it because I had a bad flood, and am expecting another one tomorrow. I'm borrowing a friend's laptop in order to check my mail. I'll get to it as soon as I can see daylight and get my equipment hooked up again, and let you know what happens.
Thanks for your concern.
