Can access browsers but not steam and etc......

soo i just got a fresh copy of win 8.1 after getting a kernal power error's (it got fixed btw) first day evrything worked fine steam skype orgin and etc.... but now it dosent work at all

browsers work fine as im posting this but steam and skype and all those others dont work any ideas?

Try this first right click on steam ect.
Select run as Admin, see if the program runs.

If it does right click again, and select properties from the menu.
select the compatibility tab in the window that opens.

And tick the run as admin tick box.
Click on ok.

Do it for each program that fails to launch or exit by a normal double left click on the icon.
