Why would you use these?

Just plug in the 6+2 pin from the psu.
k. thanks
because it's in the box?)
just was curious in case psu to gpu can't reach. that thing could be extra centimeters if i understood correctly.
p.s. how to call it anyway? "adapter" is probably a wrong word

It's an adapter. An extension cable doesn't split an 8-pin connector into two 6-pins. It's not in the box to use as an extension cable but if you have a situation in which you are out of 6+2 pin connectors and need to convert an 8-pin, you can use that, though it's very rare that this is actually a good idea.

it's two 6 into one 8? the 8pin one goes in

That adapter allows you to use a gpu requiring a 6+2 pin pcie power connector on PSU does not have any 6+2 (8) pin pcie connectors but has multiple 6 pin connectors. Some older PSUs will have multiple 6 pin connectors but no 6+2.

That's basically it's only use. It's not an extender.
